I admit the recipe below is a bit of a “clean out the fridge” recipe, but it was so good that I must right it down and remember what I did!
In twelve inch cast iron skillet, brown…
- 1 pound of ground turkey
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 T. minced garlic
- 7 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
- Once browned, stir in…
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 can of mushrooms
- 2 cups of chopped broccoli (or a bag of frozen if that’s what you’ve got on hand)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Top with shredded cheese and bake at 375* for 20-ish minutes, until bubbly and browned.
All of the eaters in my house gobbled this up! This is 100% versatile: use whatever meats and veggies your household prefers or that you have on hand (hence my use of smoked sausage!). I love being able to cook dinner in one pan, but you could definitely prep this and pour it into a casserole dish if you don’t have a big cast iron.
