I think I’m getting sick (lame. lame. lame.). I needed a quick “whatever’s-in-the-house-comfort-meal,” so check it out below:
- Prepare one box of macaroni and cheese according to package directions.
- Add all of the following to the prepared pasta:
- 4 ounces sour cream
- 6 ounces cottage cheese
- 1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1 cup of diced ham
- 1/2 t. garlic salt
- 1/4 t. red pepper flakes
- Pour into greased casserole dish and bake at 375* for twenty minutes, until bubbly.
Quick, easy, comforting. It seems a bit silly to write a blog post about such a simple semi-homemade recipe, but I love it so much I wanted to share the good news. Now it is time for night-time tea and a novel!

Nothing like mac & cheese as a comfort food for the holidays. 😉
Agreed! Hopefully its cheesy deliciousness and a some extra Vitamin C will knock out this impending sickness!
