Inexplicably, I hate buying green onions. I purchased one bunch a couple of months ago and have kept them alive by placing the roots in an inch or so of water in my window sill. You need to change the water and trim the tops every week-ish, but on the up-and-up you will have fresh green onions at your finger tips! They do grow fast: I cut these back a week ago, went on vacation, and came home to this insanity!
